Bancroft Food Bank Looking for a Boost in Donations

The North Hastings Community Cupboard is asking for your help to get them through a donation shortage.

Richard Fogg, the Acting Chair for the North Hastings Community Cupboard, says that donations this month are down and donations overall are down in comparison to this point last year. He says that it gets hard sometimes keeping up with the costs of running a food bank in a small town.

Fogg added that while food donations are what most people bring, cash donations are always appreciated.

He went on to say that something people don’t normally donate, but are important are toiletries and other hygiene products, especially for Woman. Fogg says it’s not just about food, but about basic needs.

If you want to find out more on how, or what, you can donate, visit the North Hastings Community Cupboard’s website here. You can also leave food donations at their drop-boxes at Foodland or No Frills. They also take donations of any kind at their main location at 2 Madawaska Street.
