Healthy Communities Partnership is planning to honour municipal councils who are committed to building healthy communities. Last year, the Partnership met with the 18 municipal councils throughout the region and asked them to sign the Healthy Communities Declaration. In all, 15 municipalities made the commitment to promote the principles of Health In all Policies. To build on this success, the Partnership will be launching their “What Matters to Me” campaign designed to have people speak out on the issues they feel are important for the health of their community. A special presentation will be held in Belleville on Thursday, for the representatives of those communities involved. Mayor Bernice Jenkins will be one of those involved, along with Mayor Vivian Bloom, Municipality of Hastings Highlands and Reeve Bonnie Adams, Township of Carlow Mayo. There are 13 Mayors and Reeves, along with several other groups and municipalities who will be attending. Here is that list:
