According to the OPP’s annual community satisfaction survey, the vast majority of Ontario feels safe in their communities.
Between January 4th and the 31st, the OPP surveyed people in their 5 main regions – the GTA, West-Central, South, North and the area Bancroft and Hastings County is a part of, East. The Eastern region accounted for 16% of the people who responded to the survey.
62.9% of respondents said they were ‘satisfied’ or ‘very satisfied’ with the OPP’s enforcement of distracted driving laws. However, 85.2% said they did feel ‘safe’ or ‘very safe’ while driving on a Provincial Highway. The East region were reported in the survey as feeling the most safe when travelling on a highway in comparison to the other regions.
The survey concluded saying that 97.5% of respondents felt ‘safe’ or ‘very safe’ in their community. While 95.5% say they’re ‘satisfied’ or ‘very satisfied’ with their local OPP detachment’s quality of service.
