The race for Mayor will be a two person battle.
Incumbent Mayor Paul Jenkins will go up against Councillor Mary Kavanagh come the October 22nd election.
Kavanagh says she is ready to step-up from being a Councillor in Bancroft to being the Mayor. She says that what she learned as Councillor will greatly help her as she hits the campaign trail.
Kavanagh has been a Councillor in Bancroft for the past four years. Before that, she worked in politics in Toronto and has served as a Teacher as well.
While the Mayor is the face of the Town, Kavanagh says that the Mayor is still only one person. Council and the Mayor need to work together to gets things done.
Kavanagh says that after retiring from teaching she moved back home to Bancroft for a reason. She wants to contribute. She says she believes she can do that as Mayor.
