Bancroft Fire Department are Reminding you to pull Over for Emergency Vehicles

Whether the lights are Red and White or Green, you need to pull over.

That’s the message that Matt Musclow, the Fire Prevention Operations Officer with the Bancroft Fire Department, wants to get across. We all know to move over for a Police Car, Ambulance or Fire-truck because we see the Red and White lights flashing. Musclow says that some don’t know that they have to move over for a car with a Green flashing light too.

A Green flashing light on a car means it’s a volunteer Firefighter. Musclow said that even he has been held up despite having the Green light flashing on the top of his car.

Musclow added that with any Emergency vehicle it’s important to get out of the way as soon as possible. With the total fire ban still in place in Bancroft, Emergency crews need to get to where they’re going as quickly as possible.

Other than the one major fire a couple of weeks ago, Musclow says there have been no major problems during the total fire ban. He says he’s pleased with how the people of Bancroft have reacted since the ban has been put in place.
