Only one new nominee was needed for Dungannon, but three people put their names down.
George Eastman was one of the three people to put his name on the ballot. He’s been involved with minor Hockey for years in Bancroft and was appointed as the Chairman of the Area Commission by the Town. He says that him bringing all that community experience will help send Council in the right direction.
This is the first time Eastman will run for Political Office. He says that him having the perspective of a Political outsider will be a big help to Council, if elected.
Eastman added that one of the main things he wants to bring to Council is transparency. He added that there are plenty of issues he wants to work on. He says that he wants to make sure, though, that he’s doing what the people of Bancroft want. There’s a lot of things we can do to take it to the people and let them help govern, he says.
