The 11th annual Moose FM Radiothon in support of the North Hastings Hospital Auxiliary kicks off Friday.
The theme this year is “You’re a Rockstar.” The Auxiliary is looking to raise money for 10 IV Pumps.
The Radiothon starts at 6 AM this Friday and will run until 6 PM. It will be back on the air Saturday from 8 AM until 1 PM. The phone lines will be open all day for you to donate by calling 613-332-1423. You can also visit the station in-person and drop off your donation. The station is at 30674 Highway 28 East.
Debbie Speck, the President of the Auxiliary, says that since the Auxiliary serves such a large area, it’s important that the equipment is kept up-to-date.
She adds that the Government doesn’t contribute to the upgrading of equipment. They only help with the operations of the Hospital. It’s up to the community, Speck says, to raise the money that’s needed for equipment upgrades.
Last year, $20,950 was raised that went towards buying an OMNICELL unit.
