Dairy Queen’s Miracle Treat Day a Success in Bancroft

It was another successful year for the Dairy Queen in Bancroft on Miracle Treat Day.

They raised $3,602.46 this year last week on August 9th. That money goes to benefit the SickKids Hospital in Toronto. It was decided that the money would go there after Laverne Stapley, the Owner of the Dairy Queen on Hastings Street North, spoke with Doctors at the North Hastings Hospital. Of the associated Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, most kids in Bancroft go to the Toronto Hospital.

Stapley said that they did not set a fundraising goal, but this year’s total is on par with what they have raised in past years.

In total, over $2 million was raised throughout Canada at participating Dairy Queen stores on Miracle Treat Day. That money goes to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. To learn more about Miracle Treat Day and who the money raised benefits, visit their site here.
