A record year at the 5th Annual Walk for Memories fundraiser in support of the Bancroft Alzheimer’s Society. Well over 100 volunteers and walkers turned out on Saturday morning despite the bitter cold day. Is event is the primary fundraising activity in support of Bancroft’s Alzheimer’s Society, and the monies raised are spent in service to the immediate area. Sarah Krieger, the education and support coordinator for the Bancroft Alzheimer’s Society, was hoping to reach $25,000 for this fifth annual event. The total announced, however, reached $27,803.27. Donations continued to come in after the event finished, so the final total is expected to go up.
