Fire Ban Lifted in North Hastings

The total fire ban in North Hastings has been lifted.

That’s after Fire Chief Pat Hoover consulted with the other Townships in North Hastings and made the decision. The ban will be lifted as of 6 PM tonight.

The Municipalities this affects are:

  • Town of Bancroft
  • Faraday Township
  • Wollaston Township
  • Tuder/Cashel Township
  • Carlow/Mayo Township
  • Limerick Township

The fire ban was put in place on July 10th because of the heatwave and since then, there has been little rain.

Hoover says that Bancroft and the rest of North Hastings is now under a daytime burning ban. That means no burning is allowed between 7 AM and 7 PM everyday. Small campfires are allowed, but no brush piles or yard waste fires are allowed.

Hoover warns that you should still be cautious if starting a fire.
