Tri-Board Transportation Want to Make Sure Students are Being Kept Safe

Summer is almost over and that means it’s time for students to be heading back to School.

With school almost back in session, that means it will be more important than ever to be careful when driving around Town. That’s the message Gord Taylor, the CEO of Tri-Board Transportation, wants to get across. Tri-Board is the company that runs the school buses for the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board.

Taylor stressed that the students on the bus need to be respectful of the driver. Taylor says students needs to always obey the driver. He added that even when they get off, they still need to pay attention to what the driver is saying. If the student needs to cross the street, the driver will signal them when it’s safe to cross. He adds that they always need to be sitting down when the bus is going and facing forward. That way they’ll be as safe as possible, Taylor says.

For parents, Taylor says it’s important to make sure they’re getting their children to the bus stop on time. “The bus doesn’t wait for you, you wait for the bus,” Taylor says. While Tri-Board does help teach children about school bus safety every year, parents can do there part as well. If they make sure their children know the basics of school bus safety before they get to the bus stop, it makes the driver’s job easier.

“It takes a community to keep children safe going to and from school,” Taylor says.
