The Hastings and Prince Edward Counties Health Unit’s Board of Health has adopted a $15.6 million budget for this year. The budget is based on a request for a 2% increase in funding from the province and surrounding municipalities. The budget is up 1.2% from last year. The Board of Health also approved a by-law authorizing the Board to borrow up to $1 million to meet expenditures pending the receipt of municipal levies and government grants. It was noted that the Board has never had to utilize this source of funds.
