Town’s Website to be Redesigned and Made Simpler

Once the votes are tallied on October 22nd, you can expect to see more changes than just on council.

That’s because the town is working on redesigning their website. It’s a part of the town reorganization process that was detailed further last month. Acting Clerk Lianne Sauter says it became necessary because they want to make the site more accessible and easier to use.

Sauter says staff are currently working on redesigning the site and the tentative time she hopes it will be done by is November.

Sauter says of the many changes that will be made, one will be to staff profiles. She says the profiles will give you a better sense of what that person does and what to contact them about. It will make things easier for Bancroft residents and especially people who don’t live in-town. She adds that she doesn’t want to have to have people telling their story multiple times during one phone call to the town’s office. “No one likes to be bounced around,” she says.

Sauter adds that they’ll also give better access to the agendas and minutes from committee and council meetings. For Madawaska Valley council, they record and post online every meeting. Sauter says that option has been looked at and, currently, they’re looking into seeing what would be needed to do that for Bancroft council.

Sauter added that once the website goes live, the town will look to the community for feedback.
