Multiple Impaired Driving Charges Laid in Bancroft

Two impaired driving charges were laid in Bancroft, with one not needing a lot of work to be done.

On the morning on August 29th, Bancroft OPP were called to a family dispute on Hastings Street South. They met the complainant at the Bancroft detachment and then followed her to her home. As they drove there, they noticed she was driving poorly and stopped her to check on her. During the check, they determined she was under the influence and did a roadside test, which she failed.

As a result, 66 year old Yvonne Heath of Bancroft was charged with driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood.

The other charge came later that same day. Officers responded to a traffic complaint on Hastings Street North. A business owner was talking with a male before he drove away and thought he was intoxicated.

Officers searched for the driver and found it when they arrived to the scene of a crash that involved the car and driver. After speaking with the driver, they determined he had been drinking and arrested him.

77 year old Reginald Woodcock on Bancroft was then charged with:

  • Driving while ability impaired by alcohol
  • Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood
  • Fail to have valid insurance card

Both of the people charged had their vehicles impounded for seven days and license suspended for 90 days. They were also both released on a promise they would appear for their court dates later this month.
