It was a record-breaking year for the Terry Fox Run in Bancroft.
A total of $14,100.40 was raised this year. That includes the $667.40 raised from the BBQ at No Frills in July. That number breaks the previous high set in 2016 when $11, 634.95 was raised. Ron Speck, the Chair of the Bancroft Terry Fox Run, says that 84 people participated in the run this year, which is up from the 54 that participated last year.
This year, a “Green Up” program was started. Anyone that brought a reusable water bottle was given a Terry Fox Run t-shirt for free. 47 t-shirts were given away as a result of that initiative with another 10 being sold.
This year’s totals adds to the over $275,000 that has been raised by Bancroft for cancer research.
