The Quinte region will play host to the Pan Am Games Torch Run this summer. The torch will pass through Tyendinaga, Deseronto, Belleville, Trenton and Brighton on July 3 and 4. These are just some of the scheduled stops on the torch’s 20,000 kilometre journey to Toronto. The torch’s flame will be lit in a ceremony in Mexico in May, kicking off its 41-day trip to more than 130 communities across the country. Belleville council recently approved extending the city’s contract with the Chamber of Commerce to accommodate events like the Pan Am Torch Run nd the Para Pan Am Torch Run in August.
