Two Drivers Charged with Impaired Driving by Bancroft OPP

Two drivers have been charged with impaired driving, with one arrest leading to assault charges as well.

On October 26th, Bancroft OPP responded to a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver on Rose Island Road in Wollaston Township. Officers later found out exactly where the car was thanks to a tip. They went to the address, spoke with the driver, and determined he had been drinking.

The 39-year-old from Markham, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

  • Care or control while impaired
  • Care or control over 80 milligrams
  • Assault – spousal

The other charge came from a collision on November 2nd. Bancroft OPP responded to a call of a vehicle in a ditch on Highway 28 South in Faraday Township.

Officers arrived at the scene and after speaking with the driver, determined she had been drinking and did a roadside test.

The 76-year-old woman from Faraday was charged with driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

Both people charged had their vehicle impounded for seven days and their license suspended for 90 days.

They will both be appearing in court later this month.
