Festival of Trees Set to Light up Bancroft

Christmas is coming up fast and the North Hastings Hospital Auxiliary wants to help you prepare.

This year will be the fourth time the Auxiliary has run the “Festival of Trees.” Michael Brooks, President of the Auxiliary, tells My Bancroft Now that it works like this: Bancroft Home Hardware donates trees that 12 businesses across Bancroft decorate. Once they finish decorating them, they drop the trees off at the Corner Cafe and the bidding wars begin, Brooks says. You can bid on them by buying a $2 raffle ticket or bid in a silent auction. The bidding process starts on November 26th when the first of the trees arrive and goes until the wine and cheese finale party held on December 7th at the Cafe.

Brooks says all the trees are unique to the business decorating them. “Every business likes to do their own type of theme,” he says. “These trees are unique and they’re fun,” Brooks adds.

All the money raised from the “Festival of Trees” goes to support the North Hastings Hospital as they look to raise $70,000 to buy 10 new IV Pumps.
