It was brought up as a possibility during the election campaign and now it’s being put into action.
During the all-candidates meeting during the election campaign, Mayor Paul Jenkins said he would like to make it so residents are given the opportunity to sit on boards and committees. “The Town has a lot of potential and we also have a lot of expertise within the town and even outside the town,” Jenkins said when reached for comment. “We can’t do it alone and we value the input of all of our residents and think it’s extremely important to move our town forward to prosperity,” he added.
The following boards and committees will be opened up to residents to apply for:
- Bancroft North Hastings Heritage Museum Board
- Bancroft Business Improvement Area Board of Management
- North Hastings Arena Commission
- North Hastings Public Library
- Bancroft Property Standards Committee
- Bancroft Community Safety and Well-being Committee
