Plaque to be Unveiled to Honour Algonquin Park Drowning Victim

The 15-year-old student that drowned at Algonquin Park will be honoured with a plaque.

The unveiling ceremony for the plaque honouring Jeremiah Perry will happen later today. The 15-year-old C.W. Jefferys Collegiate Institute student drowned in July 2017 while swimming with his classmates at Big Trout Lake in Algonquin Park. It was later found out that he was one of 15 students that had previously failed their swimming test. Nicholas Mills, a 54-year-old teacher from Perry’s school in Toronto, has since been charged with one count of criminal negligence causing death.

The plaque will be unveiled and displayed at C.W. Jefferys Collegiate Institute in Toronto.
