Kids in Need Surpasses Fundraising Goal

The Moose FM Kids in Need radiothon was a success thanks to the residents of North Hastings.

The goal for this year’s radiothon was $16,000, but thanks to the residents of North Hastings $23,182 was raised this year during the 12 hours the radiothon was on the air. “We absolutely blew it out of the water,” said Jennifer Foster, the Chairperson for Kids in Need, after announcing the grand total. “On behalf of the board of directors (of Kids in Need) and Moose FM, we can’t thank North Hastings enough,” she added.

Foster was tearing up when she spoke about what this will mean for kids this holiday season. “It means we’re going to be able to meet the needs of kids this Christmas,” she said. “It means they’re going to have an amazing Christmas,” she continued.

While today was the charity’s big fundraising day, you can still donate if you weren’t able to today. All cheques can be mailed to P.O. box 640. Make the cheque out to “Kids in Need – Bancroft.” Toy donations will be accepted until Wednesday the 12th at the Bancroft OPP detachment. You can also continue to donate online.

“You are the most amazing givers in the world,” Foster said of the North Hastings community.
