Town’s New Deputy Mayor is a Familiar Face

The first meeting of council means they must decide who the Town’s Deputy Mayor will be.

The only person who was nominated was Councillor Charles Mullett. He was unanimously voted in as the Town’s Deputy Mayor for a second term. “I’m looking forward to the next term,” Mullett said. “I’m pleased that the members of council have trusted me to do the job,” he added. Mayor Paul Jenkins spoke during the meeting about how close he and Mullett have worked together over the past year. “I look forward to working with you again,” Jenkins said.

There was a change, though. Previously, the Deputy Mayor served a four-year term, but council passed a motion to change that to a two-year term.

Mullett has served as Deputy Mayor of Bancroft since then Deputy Mayor Paul Jenkins took over as Mayor of Bancroft in December 2017.
