The Hastings and Prince Edward Counties Health Unit had its monthly meeting last weekend and it was confirmed that there have been no cases of measles locally. Nineteen cases of the disease have been reported across the province during the recent outbreak. Medical Officer of Health Richard Schabas says the local school boards are working hard to ensure students are vaccinated to prevent measles from coming here. Proper storage procedures for vaccines were also discussed at the meeting.
