They want to make sure what they do what’s right for the Municipality.
That’s why Hastings Highlands will be holding a public meeting next to determine if they should move forward with retail cannabis. “We’re looking for people’s input,” says Pat Pilgrim, the CAO/Clerk of the Municipality.
She says she has been working on a report that will be presented to the public and Hastings Highlands council next week. It will also be made available to anyone who wants to see it.
Pilgrim says a one-page survey will also be passed around during the meeting for anyone who attends to take. “Your opinion matters – we want to hear from you,” she says. Other than the survey, Pilgrim suggests thinking of a question or two you want to ask council if you plan on attending.
After the meeting, council will work towards making a decision on whether to opt-in or out of retail cannabis. All municipalities in Ontario must make a decision on if they will opt-in or out on retail cannabis by January 22nd.
The meeting will be held on January 10th at Emond Hall and will start at 7 PM.
