Hastings Highlands joins Bancroft and Faraday Township after they opted-in on retail cannabis.
During council yesterday it was unanimously passed that the municipality will opt-in on retail cannabis. “We decided that for the (municipality) to opt-in would be the best method of moving forward,” said Mayor of Hastings Highlands Vic Bodnar.
The initial 25 retail cannabis licenses were announced earlier this week with no one from North Hastings being given a license. Bodnar says that for now, Hastings Highlands will have to wait and see what happens. “It might be years until we see anything,” Bodnar said about more licenses being awarded
