You will be getting a new library card.
That’s because the North Hastings Public Library is moving to a new system that will require people to use new cards.
Library CEO Kim McMunn says they will be switching to a Canadian system from their current US-based system. “You won’t see too much of an exterior change, it’s all interior,” she said.
If your membership is in good standing you’ll get your card in February. If you have fines or let your membership lapse, McMunn says you’re going to have to come to the library to get everything in order before you get a new card.
McMunn says the new system is more efficient and will cost the library less.
