Centre Hastings OPP responded to a call of two vehicles blocking a crosswalk in Madoc last week, causing concern for a crossing guard and pedestrians. OPP are once again reminding drivers to check for pedestrians and to give them right of way at crosswalks. Keep your handheld devices out of reach while behind the wheel and obey the speed limit. The OPP say pedestrians should make sure cars have stopped at the crosswalk before crossing the road. They say when walking, always be attentive by turning off your music and putting your phone away.
