Corner Cafe Set to Undergo Renovations

The Corner Cafe will be shutting down for renovations.

It will be for two weeks starting on February 11th. President of the North Hastings Hospital Auxiliary Michael Brooks says the work will be done on the kitchen. “All the renovations at the cafe pertain to assessability, safety and efficiency for our volunteers,” he said.

Brooks said they will be pushing out the counters to give more floor space to the volunteers as well as installing roll-out drawers instead of cabinets like they currently have.

In a press release, it was announced that Hastings County will be providing the Auxiliary with $30,000 to help with the renovations. The total cost of the renovations is said to be around $38,000. “Hastings County Council
were pleased to be able to support this worthwhile project and values
the service that the Corner Cafe provides to local residents and visitors
to the hospital and professional building,” the press release reads.
