Local United Way Announces New Executive Director

Brandi Hodge is stepping up to take over as Executive Director of the United Way in Hastings and Prince Edward.

This comes after current Executive Director Kathy Murphy has stepped down due to personal reasons. Hodge is the current Director of Community Engagement and has worked with United Way for the past 13 years. “It’s a different perspective you have when you come from an internal position,” she said about her promotion. She added that knowing the ins and outs about how United Way does business is a great asset. “We are a little bit different in concept and structure than other organizations,” Hodge said.

“I’ve always had a great passion for this organization and the change it can make in the community,” she said. Hodge said one of her proudest moments with United Way came when she was apart of the group that raised $2 million in 2014.

“The social fabric of a community really lies within its community members and the social services organizations that are part of it,” Hodge said. “You have a really great social fabric in the north hastings aera and its one to be built on and to celebrate,” she went on to say about the work that’s done locally.

Hodge will start her new role on Monday.
