The local health unit wants kids to get moving this spring and so it’s launching the Make Room for Play campaign in partnership with groups across Hastings and Prince Edward Counties. The ParticipACTION program is part of the provincial government’s healthy living strategy and aims to cut the amount of time children spend in front of screens. It launches March 23 and runs through until June 1. It’s estimated that just over thirty percent of local children have below average motor skills.
