Town Looking to Bring in Student For Summer Job

A position with the Tourism and Economic Development department with the town of Bancroft.

Acting Clerk Lianne Sauter says anyone can apply, but the Town is specifically looking for a student that’s planning to go into post-secondary education in the fall.

“The preferred candidates will be enthusiastic and have an interest in promoting tourism and demonstrated core competencies including, communication, teamwork and use of technology,” a press release sent out by the Town reads. The students will help promote tourism in the area and help with other economic development activities including some “special projects” the department will be working on, Sauter says. They will also be greeting visitors as they come into the municipal office and working in the mineral museum to answer any questions visitors may have.

The position would be a 30 to 35 hour a week position with the successful applicant getting paid $14 an hour.

Students can apply by sending their resumes to Acting Clerk Lianne Sauter’s email [email protected]. An application must be submitted by March 15th by 4:30 PM.
