OPP Want You Keep Snow on Your Property, Not The Road

With the recent heavy snowfall, the OPP want to make sure you don’t get in trouble for shovelling.

Bancroft OPP Constable Philippe Regamey says that it’s a $110 fine if you shovel snow onto a roadway. He says that it’s hazardous to do so because if the snow is not plowed and it melts because of the salt that it put down on roadways, it could cause ice to build up. Eventually, Regamey says, that could turn into black ice which could cause vehicle collisions.

“Be courteous to others and deposit your snow onto your own property,” the OPP said in a press release.
