Town of Bancroft Hiring After Staff Member Announces Retirement

The Town of Bancroft is looking to hire a Chief Building Official after the current one announced his retirement.

Dale Shannick, the current CBO, will be retiring so the position has opened up. He will be leaving the position in mid-April.

In a press release, the Town says that “the CBO contributes to the safety and well being of the residents and visitors to the Town through the administration and enforcement of the Ontario Building Code Act, Ontario Fire Code, Planning Act, Municipal Act, Property Standards By-Law and other related by-laws.”

The list of requirements for someone applying for the job includes having a post-secondary education in “construction inspection techniques” and a minimum of three years of relevant experience in building inspection and by-law enforcement.
