“I just about fell off my chair,” says Haliburton for Hockeyville Advocate

Haliburton is one of only ten communities across the country to make it to the semi-finals of the 2015 Kraft Hockeyville competition.  The A.J. Larue Arena has already won $25,000 just for placing, thanks to an application spearheaded by the township.  It grew as people around the area started latching on.  People like Bob Stinson, chair for branch 54 of the aging advocacy group CARP.

He says the county deserves to be recognized for its arena, but now comes the hard part.

Stinson is encouraging everyone to vote, not just those living in Haliburton County.  The top two communities will face off in the finals.  Both will get $100,000 and the winner will also win an NHL pre-game hosted in their town.  Head to khv2015.ca this weekend to cast your vote.
