Prince Edward-Hastings MP Daryl Kramp was in Belleville yesterday to announce new programs for wounded veterans and their caregivers. His first announcement involved making it easier for veterans who can’t work to access the Permanent Impairment Allowance. Kramp says loosening the requirements veterans have to meet will allow more to qualify for the monthly financial support. He also discussed the proposed Family Caregiver Relief Benefit. Kramp says this would give qualifying veterans a grant of just over $7,000 per year for their caregivers, who are often family members.
