Crowe Valley Conservation warns of the high flows because of the recent rainfall, melting snow and forecasted high temperatures.
The flood status is currently at yellow, which means “high flows, unsafe banks, melting ice or other factors that could be dangerous for recreational users such as anglers, canoeists, hikers, pets, etc.”
They say flooding is not expected over the next 72 hours.
“Flows around dams and hydro generation plants have increased and the ice thinning could be severe for a considerable distance from the dam,” Crowe Valley Conservation says. “Structures such as culverts and bridges with fast flowing water going through or underneath them must be avoided as well.” They also recommend residents to stay away from ice that has been recreationally used.
