MNRF Issue Flood Outlook For Bancroft Area

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has issued a watershed conditions statement for their Bancroft district.

A flood outlook has been issued, which means the MNRF is giving early notice about the potential for flooding in the area. They base this on weather forecasts, snow melt, high winds among other related conditions.

They suggest Bancroft residents keep an eye on the conditions and be cautious near fast-moving rivers and streams. “Residents who have a historic susceptibility to flooding should take appropriate precautions to protect their property, such as ensuring sump pumps are functioning and securing items that may float away as water levels rise,” the MNRF add.
