The OPP’s week-long distracted driving campaign has finished for now. There were 45 charges for Driving with a Handheld Communication Device in Centre Hastings as of Friday. But the OPP say this isn’t the end of road patrol. They say they’ll continue monitoring the roads for people who are texting and driving. They urge you to turn your phone off before hitting the road or to give your device to a passenger to answer if you’re expecting a call.
