The bellies of those in the community will be kept full long after Easter weekend thanks to another successful “Stuff the Cruiser” fundraiser.
The OPP and North Hastings Community Cupboard teams up to get donations of cash and food at Foodland on Saturday. Constable Philippe Regamey says $640 was raised with 1,543 pounds of food being brought in as well.
Director on the Community Cupboard’s board Monica Piercy says they are happy to have the OPP and community on-board to help with their fundraisers.
While stock is high now, they will run out quickly. “The need is really high right now and we have been whipping through groceries like nobodies business,” she tells My Bancroft Now. She says donations of non-perishable food are always welcomed at their drop-off locations at Foodland, No Frills and the IDA.
Piercy says they would like to hold their next fundraiser during May long weekend.
