Local music lovers are getting ready to come together in Bancroft.
The North Hastings Music Festival is set for May 6th to the 10th and President of the festival, Dianne Windmill invites you to join the fun.
She says that the festival is a great opportunity for up and coming musicians to hone their craft. “They have the opportunity to play in front of a non-judgmental crowd” she says adding that they will also have adjudicators (experts) who will then give helpful advice.
Windmill, a musician taking part in the festival herself, says that artists will be playing a variety of instruments, from piano to guitars to fiddles and wind instruments to name a few. She also says that the North Hastings Community Band will be making their debut at the festival on the Tuesday night show, May 7th.
Concerts are all free except the adjudicator’s show which will cost $10 but will be free for children 12 and under accompanied by a paying adult.
She adds that they will also be presenting a Noon Hour concert series during the festival. These shows run from May 6th to May 10th as well, from 12:30 to 1:00 in the afternoon. She says those concerts are from experienced musicians who just love performing and want to give the festival a push. For more information and to see the full schedule click here.
