19-Year-Old Charged With Manslaughter Relocating to Bancroft

CTV reports 19-year-old Brett Cummings will be relocating to Bancroft.

He’s been charged with manslaughter after being accused of stabbing a 21-year-old man in Barrie on Sunday night. The victim was taken to a local hospital that night where he was later pronounced dead.

He made his first court appearance Tuesday. He was released Thursday on a $5,000 bail.

He will be living with his grandmother in Town. Bancroft OPP Constable Philippe Regamey confirms to My Bancroft Now Cummings will have to report to them monthly. CTV says he isn’t allowed to have any weapons as conditions of his release.

He is scheduled for another court appearance at a later date.
