The Central Food Network is hosting the event in the parking lot of the Wilberforce Foodland.
All donations will go to benefit the Wilberforce and Cardiff food banks. Organizer Joan Barton says they will have a boat in the parking lot with volunteers ready to collect donations.
Non-perishable food items are what they’re looking for, but Barton adds that cash is always welcomed. “The lovely thing about cash is that we can use it at that time to get what we need,” she says.
The Foodland will also be helping out by preparing food bags that can be purchased and donated. “What they have done is they have made pre-packed bags that we particularly need,” Barton says.
The event will be going on from 11 AM until 3 PM on Saturday, May 18th.
