The session will be the second one Community Trust has held.
Last year, they held one talking about the issues of opiates in North Hastings. Community support worker with North Hastings Community Trust Victoria Burke says this year’s education session will focus on crystal methamphetamine.
There will be speakers from Hastings-Prince Edward Public Health and the Bancroft Family Health Team along with other support workers from Community Trust.
Burke says crystal meth is at the “forefront” in our community when it comes to substance abuse. She says the session will focus on how you can combat the addiction. Speakers will also touch on how they respond to substance abuse in the community.
The session is being held on June 20th at Community Trust’s building on 23 Bridge Street. It will run from 1 PM until 5 and is free to attend. More information can be found on Community Trust’s Facebook page.
