Veolia Water Canada Inc. will be doing their spring water main flushing starting this weekend.
The program will start this Sunday and go for two weeks. The flushing will happen from 9 PM to 5 the next morning every day from Sunday until Friday.
You may see discoloured water and lower than normal water pressure over the next two weeks. That’s normal, the Town says. They say to run cold water for a few minutes each morning to clear up the discoloured water from your plumbing. The low pressure is because hydrants are being turned on and off, the length of time necessary to flush the debris out of the lines and opening and closing isolation valves.
It’s also recommended that you avoid using water between 10 PM and 6 AM when crews are working on flushing the water in your area.
“The maintenance program is designed to remove sediment accumulation within the water mains in order to main good water quality in the distribution system,” the Town of Bancroft says.
