Peterborough has announced the name of the person who will carry the Pan Am Games torch through the city later this year. Peterborough’s Alec Denys will carry the torch on June 4. The athlete from Warsaw, Ontario has competed in five Paralympic Games between 1984 and the year 2000. Denys is currently training for the archery competition in this summer’s Para Pan Am Games. He is one of 3,000 people to carry the torch on its 41-day journey to Toronto.
