$1,725 was raised during this year’s Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides in Bancroft.
Co-organizer Laverne Stapley says the money will be going to the Lion’s Foundation of Canada to help with the cost of raising guide dogs. “It was a very rewarding year and we are very happy with our totals,” he tells My Bancroft Now. Stapley adds that he was happy to see the sun out on Sunday, instead of the rain that came down on Saturday. It made for a good walk with high spirits amongst those that came out.
Over $17 million has been raised since the walk started 35 years ago in 1985.
