Ontario Government’s “Disaster Recovery Assistance” Opened to Residents of Hastings Highlands

After major flooding hit the municipality, the PCs will be helping victims in Hastings Highlands.

They have activated the “Disaster Recovery Assistance” program to help residents in Hastings Highlands and throughout other flooded areas in Ontario. “The safety of those affected by this natural disaster is our government’s top priority,” the government says.

The program applies to people’s primary residence and its “basic contents,” farms or not-for-profit organizations. “It provides assistance for emergency expenses and the costs to repair or replace essential property following a natural disaster that are not covered by insurance,” the PCs note.

“While I would prefer that there would be no need for this, I am pleased that our government has made the commitment through the Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians program to provide relief for residents in our riding impacted by flooding this spring,” Hastings-Lennox and Addington M.P.P. Daryl Kramp says.
