Community Cupboard Concert Series Beginning This Month

Musicians will take over the front steps of North Hastings Community Cupboard’s HQ every Thursday throughout the summer.

Director on the Community Cupboard’s board Monica Piercy explains this what thought-up because of the concert that was held at community cupboard on Earth Day in April.

The concerts are free to attend, but you’re asked to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the food bank. The musicians will also be busking. A 50/50 draw will be held every week along with raffles. Food will be available on-site as well.

“It brings a lot of awareness and good energy to the food bank,” Piercy says.

The first show will be on June 20th. Piercy’s band Retrovision will be playing along with Neojock. Piercy says there will be a chance for other bands to take the stage during the first show. She adds that every week a chunk of time will be sectioned off for people to get up and do karaoke.

If you’re interested in being a performer, you can email [email protected] or drop off your information at the community cupboard’s HQ at 2 Madawaska Street.

The concerts will take place every Thursday from noon until 3 PM on the front steps of North Hastings Community Cupboard.
