Hospital Auxiliary Beginning Yearly Fundraising Campaign, Equipment Wishlist Announced

June 22nd will the beginning on the fundraising year for the North Hastings Hospital Auxiliary.

The No Frills Round-up will begin then and run until the 30th. This year they are raising money to buy a CBC Blood Analyzer and a Level 1 Fluid Warmer/Rapid Infuser. “A lot of the big equipment we purchase is necessary before (patients) need to go to big hospitals like in Belleville or Kingston for major surgeries,” Janice MacKenzie with the auxiliary explains.

This will be the 15th year the round-up has been held. When customers check-out with their groceries, they will be asked if they want to “round up” their bill with the extra cents or dollars donated to the auxiliary. “You can add a few pennies or a few dollars,” MacKenzie says, “every penny counts.” They will also be out front of the grocery store every day from the 22nd until the 30th from 10:30 AM until 4 PM.

The theme for this year’s fundraising campaign is “every drop counts.”

The date for Moose FM’s annual radiothon for the auxiliary has also been confirmed. July 26th and 27th are the new dates for this year’s edition of the auxiliary biggest fundraising event.
