58-year-old Robert Ferguson from Highlands East is charged with second-degree murder after an early morning homicide on Saturday in the municipality.
The police have identified the victim as 29-year-old Dylan Robert Dahlke of Dysart Et Al, Ontario. He is scheduled for a post mortem examination Monday in Toronto.
Ferguson will be appearing for his bail hearing Monday in Kawartha Lakes.
Detective Inspector Jim Gorry will be at the helm of the investigation into the murder. The OPP says more details will be released as they become available.
